This Bulletin Board is a venue where announcements about ArtWorks members’ news, exhibitions, art opportunities, and announcements are shared. To have information published, please send concise information, synopsized into one to three sentences. -- Members who are exhibiting at the PTK Lobby Gallery with their young artist(s) include: Misha Ambrosia, Janet Armstrong, Jay Dougherty, Myra Dwyer, Lynette Haggbloom, David Jones, Kim Jones, Linda Moore, Gayle Novick, Faye Phillips, Delaire Rowe, Jared Weaver, and Kay Zoretic. Twenty-eight pieces of art are installed, some for sale, and will be on exhibition through August 29th. Free to the public to view the art. The Secret Garden is the current play and tickets may be purchased by calling 270-781-6233.
--The Presbyterian Church is featuring artwork by the residents of Bellewood, a Presbyterian Children's Home, August 14 to Sept. 9. The exhibit is coordinated by ArtWorks member Monica Crawford, local artist and Bellewood art instructor. An opening reception honoring the artists will be held in the Fellowship Hall August 15 following the 11:00 am service. The exhibit is open to the public and may be seen at the church, Tenth St. entrance, Mon. through Fri. 8:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

-- The Downtown Merchants are planning Street Fairs this spring, summer, and fall. The merchants believe it would be very nice for these events to have artists actively sketching/drawing/painting on the lawn area of Fountain Square. For this first Street Fair on 8 May, there will be no vendor fee for those who wish to participate. Participants can also sell their art if they desire. If you think of Venice, Paris, etc. a very common sight is artists capturing what is before them on canvas. If you’re interested, please contact Mike at 321-525-9213. Green Downtown Merchants are planning Street Fair events on Fountain
Square throughout the summer on Second Saturdays. Folks can come down
to enjoy children's activities, sidewalk sales and entertainment around
the Square. The event runs from 9 am till 2 pm. Other dates
will be Jun 12th, Jul 10th, Aug 14th, and Sep 11th.

-- Applications are now available for Kentucky Proud products to be considered for resale at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea. This is the first step for having products considered for resale at the Kentucky Experience’s Kentucky Proud Product Pavilion during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The pavilion will be located on the Kentucky Horse Park grounds during the world’s most prestigious equestrian competition Sept. 25-Oct. 10, 2010. -- Gallery on the Square in Franklin, KY (just 18 short miles south of Bowling Green) has openings
for artists to teach classes or workshops of various mediums. If you are interested in doing this, please contact Director Robin Swanson.--The Presbyterian Church’s Gallery is looking for artists. This is a great space to exhibit and sell your work. The Church publicizes and holds a reception for you. The church gallery continually features local and national artists. -- Porter Café in the main library at 1225 State Street in Bowling Green features a local artist each month. The exhibit is open to the public during normal library hours. There is no charge. Requirements: Artists need to include an inventory (plus value) prior to installation in order to insure each piece. Exhibitions are also being held on a smaller scale at the Kirby branch (in front of Greenwood High). ArtWorks members have been continually exhibiting! --The Workshop Of Jerry H. Lyons is offering a Workshop titled Woodworking Machine and Tool Maintenance. This how to session is Oct. 15-16, 2010. WINNERS OF PAST JURIED EXHIBITIONS
-- Duncan Hines Festival Juried Exhibition produced two winners from the ArtWorks organization. Steve Clay was a merit winner and Craig Loosekamp was the best amateur winner.-- Booth winners from the July 24, 2010 Fountain Square ArtWorks Festival: Mitchell Rickman 1st place. Runner ups: Phil Alecii and Jill Gentry.
-- ArtWorks’ Women who won awards at The Medical Center’s 20th Annual Women-in-the-Arts Exhibit: Merit winners were Misha Ambrosia, Lynette Frey Haggbloom, Kim Jones, Cattie Lou Miller and Alice Gatewood Waddell. Honorable Mention winners were Pamm Douglas, Leslie Nichols, and Lynn Robertson. The winning art was showcased at the Houchens Gallery at the Capitol Arts Alliance in May.

Steve Oliver was the featured artist in the July SOKY magazine.
Misha Ambrosia was the featured artist in the June SOKY magazine.-- An article in the SOKY May issue penned by Kay Zoretic about the ArtWorks Young Artist Grant Program and Edmonson County High School is on pages 26 and 27. The exhibit will be held May 13-15 at the Edmonson County Public Library in Brownsville and a reception and award ceremony during the morning of May 15. Thank you, Kay Zoretic and your committee, for getting the ball rolling on the YAGP. Congratulations go to the Edmonson County High School, Edd Williams, the art teacher, and all of his students.
